See you next year!
Thank you to everyone who participated in 2011's Advocates for Arthritis fly-in – both from Washington, D.C. and virtually! Your participation makes an impact.
We're already working on next year's event, which will take place on September 10-11, 2012, and we will start accepting applications beginning June 4.
Advocates for Arthritis, the ACR's Annual Capitol Hill fly-in, brings rheumatology professionals and patients to Washington D.C. to advocate on behalf of the rheumatology community. During this event, participants will hear from top representatives from key legislative and regulatory agencies and meet with their members of Congress and staff to discuss current issues affecting the rheumatology community.
*The ACR covers airfare, hotel and reasonable travel expenses for all Advocates for Arthritis participants.*
Advocate Now
This year, during Advocates for Arthritis, the ACR launched its Simple Tasks public relations campaign. As a part of this, the ACR piloted a new microsite to make the Advocates for Arthritis experience even more rewarding. The site features helpful tips, logistical details, past articles about the ACR's advocacy work and information on how to use Facebook and Twitter as a part of the visit. Advocates are encouraged to use the site to stay engaged through and after the event. Start advocating now by visiting www.advocatesforarthritis.org.
