The College welcomes self-nominations or nominations of colleagues for a position on an ACR Standing Committee, the ACR Board of Directors, the Research and Education Foundation Board of Directors or an REF council.
Stanley Cohen, MD, chair of the Committee on Nominations and Appointments, encourages members to think of colleagues that would be great volunteers. "I began volunteering for the College over 15 years ago," says Dr. Cohen. "It has been an extremely rewarding experience and I look forward to being involved in the process of selecting the next round of ACR and REF leaders."
ACR and REF nominations are due by June 1 and accepted candidates will be notified at the end of the summer. Committee appointments are made each year in conjunction with the Annual Scientific Meeting. Most elected terms are for three years beginning at the time of the annual meeting. Additional opportunities are available from time to time, so forms are kept on file for the following year or for consideration for any adhoc committees that may be appointed.
